Introducing... Mr. Laurence Patterson, Principal

Catholic School PrincipalMr. Patterson enjoys and helps set the tone of the welcoming and accepting atmosphere of the Queen of Apostles school community.  “We are a real family of learners -- students, parents and teachers -- who believe that a Christ-centered education is paramount. Quality academics are next in importance with extra-curriculum activities following up in a strong third place in priority.”

Leading by example is crucial. “I believe that everyone should be encouraged to do their best and that everyone can make a positive contribution to further the success of the school and its children,” he says. Mr. Patterson says his love of teaching stems from the honesty and goodness of children in their interactions with one another. He most recently was principal of Catholic East Elementary in Milwaukee. Mr. Patterson previously provided leadership as principal of St. Mary Catholic School in Elm Grove as well as at St. Robert Catholic School in Shorewood. Providing leadership in Catholic education is important in shaping future generations. “All knowledge and wisdom comes from God. We are gifted, as human beings, with intellect and the knowledge of right and wrong,” Mr. Patterson says. “Utilizing these gifts, in a Catholic school context, we can grow in knowledge and faith to be successful, happy adults.”

His educational background includes a Masters Degree in Teaching Mathematics/Science and a Bachelors Degree in Biology/Life Sciences. He holds the State of Wisconsin Principal License. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Patterson is married and has five grown children ranging in age from 19 to 27 years old.
